A Florida man is accused of robbing $120 from a Chase bank by pretending to have a gun underneath his shirt, authorities said.
Paul James Sinclair, 56, of Largo, was charged with second-degree robbery, according to Pinellas County online court records.
According to a news release from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Sinclair entered a Chase bank in unincorporated Seminole at about 1:28 p.m. EDT.
In a probable cause affidavit, deputies said Sinclair approached a teller and implied he had a gun under his shirt by putting his hand under his clothing and forming the shape of a weapon with his finger.
The teller gave Sinclair $120 and he fled the bank, the sheriff’s office said.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies arrested Sinclair 10 minutes later in Seminole and he was booked into the Pinellas County Jail. Sinclair was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of his arrest, according to the probable cause affidavit.
According to online booking records, Sinclair is also awaiting an unrelated charge of first-degree arson.
