PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in south Florida are searching for the person who shot a dog in the snout before driving away.
In a social media post, deputies with Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said someone shot the dog, whose name is Boots, at a park. A picture of the dog, as well as a white car that the gunman is believed to be driving, were attached to the post.
Boots was shot at Kennedy Estates Park. All we know is that the one responsible drives a four-door Honda Accord. We believe he is a black man, 6 ft tall, thin with short dreadlocked hair with red highlighted tips. With him was a white man & a white female. Please RT. pic.twitter.com/UmxngdZy4S

Police told WPTV that the gunman got out of a white, four-door Honda Accord, went up to Boots, and fired one round into the animal’s snout before getting back into the car and driving away. Boots, a 1-year-old chocolate lab mix, was loose at the time, the station reported.
Boots has a broken jaw and lost several teeth, WPTV reported. Deputies said Boots is continuing to recover at an emergency vet.
