HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Florida deputies responding to a call early Sunday morning about a pedestrian being hit by a car ran over the victim’s body on the way to the accident scene.
A 27-year-old man from Orlando was walking across Hillsborough Avenue at 4 a.m. when he was hit by a car, WFLA reported. The 41-year-old driver reported the incident and is cooperating with investigators.
While responding to the call, two Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputies ran over the body. The identities of the deputies have not been released. The 24-year-old deputy was hired in January 2019, WFLA reported. The 25-year-old deputy was hired May of 2019.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the victim was already dead after the initial hit. The highway patrol is investigating the incident, WTVT reported.
