MIAMI — If you’re in South Florida, you may want to keep an eye toward the sky: Weather forecasters are calling for a chance of falling green iguanas.
According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, the National Weather Service warned Tuesday that the ubiquitous reptiles could plummet from trees during a cold snap in the region.
“This isn’t something we usually forecast, but don’t be surprised if you see Iguanas falling from the trees tonight as lows drop into the 30s and 40s,” the agency’s Miami office tweeted. “Brrrr!”

The cold-blooded critters “slow down or become immobile when temps drop into the 40s,” the alert continued.
“They may fall from trees, but they are not dead,” forecasters said.
