GLASTONBURY, Conn. — A woman on Twitter says her family dog saved her daughter’s life when the little girl stopped breathing in her sleep. In the post, Kelly Andrew says “Last night the dog kept breaking into the nursery and waking the baby. She’s been sick, and I was getting so fed up with him. Until she stopped breathing. We spent the night in the hospital. I don’t know what would have happened if he hadn’t woken her.”
Andrew said her Boston terrier, Henry, is normally responsive to being told to stop going into the baby’s room, and normally goes and hides, The Hartford Courant reported.

Until she stopped breathing.

Andrew said her daughter was turning blue when Henry went into her room the last time, WVIT reported. The Andrews took her to the hospital immediately, where they were able to suction the fluid that was making it hard for the baby to breathe.
Kelly Andrew is calling Henry a hero, and told WTNH he got all of his Christmas treats early for being such a good boy. “We’re definitely spoiling the dog a little bit more. He was allowed to sleep in bed with me last night and he’s got a steak in his future,” Jeff Dowling, Kelly’s husband, told Good Morning America.
