CINCINNATI — The votes are in, and the winner is Zip.
The Cincinnati Zoo’s baby wallaby finally has a name. Voting to name the marsupial took place online using Facebook balloting, WXIX reported.
The naming comes just as the facility’s Zoo Babies promotion begins Saturday. The 36th annual event marks the spots where babies and expectant mothers can be found at the zoo, according to the park’s website.
Zip won out against Foster and Pauly, according to WXIX.
Members of the zoo’s care team unexpectedly found Zip in the pouch of his mother, Ava, the television station reported.
According to the zoo, Zip is a red-necked wallaby.
