CHICAGO — Chicago police said Tuesday that one of their officers was served hair and dirt when they ordered food from a Wendy’s restaurant in the city.
The officer, who was on duty at the time, said she ordered food from a drive-thru around 1:30 a.m. Police told WMAQ that as she began to eat her food, she found dirt and hair. Police said that the officer then went into the restaurant to call their attention to the problem, but her concerns were dismissed.
A Wendy’s spokesperson told The Chicago Sun Times that the company is in touch with the police department. “The quality and integrity of our food is our number one priority and we take any food-related claims extremely seriously. We have great respect for law enforcement and their service to our communities,” the spokesperson told the paper in a statement.
Nobody has been arrested or charged, and the officer declined medical treatment, WFLD reported.
