In an incident report obtained by WSB, police said they clocked Ozuna driving at a speed of 90 mph in 25 mph zone just after 12:30 a.m. After pulling Ozuna over, authorities said he “immediately stated ‘sorry, sorry, I’m Ozuna from the Braves.’”

The responding officer said they smelled alcohol coming from the car and noticed that Ozuna had “red/watery eyes,” according to the report.

“I asked Mr. Ozuna what he was doing in Norcross and he replied with ‘the party,’” the officer said. “I later found out Mr. Ozuna was on his way to a nearby after-hours night club.”

Gwinnett County Jail records show authorities arrested Ozuna on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and an unsafe lane change. He was released from jail later Friday on a bond of $1830.

In a statement obtained by WSB, officials with the Braves said they were aware of Ozuna’s arrest.

“Our organization takes these matters very seriously and are obviously disappointed by the situation,” the statement said. “As this is a legal matter, we will have no further comment until the process is complete.”

In May 2021, authorities arrested Ozuna on suspicion of domestic violence. Charges were dropped after he completed a pretrial diversion program, according to WSB. In November, officials with Major League Baseball suspended Ozuna for 20 games under its domestic violence policy following an investigation into his earlier arrest, the news station reported.

Ozuna has been with the Braves since 2020. He is in the second year of a $65 million, four-year contract, according to The Associated Press.
