A video posted online shows the suspect approaching the employee before taking the delivery van. The driver, holding packages, is then seen running up to a door and can be heard banging multiple times.

The house where the driver ran for help belongs to Michael Fountain, who told WJBK that he and his wife received an alert from their doorbell camera as the driver yelled, “Please open the door, please open the door!”

The driver said that as she was exiting the van, a gunman approached her and stole the vehicle, along with all of the packages inside, WDIV reported. The driver had been bringing a package of bottled water to the Fountain home.

“She actually had the box in her hand, she says as he walked up to her he had a ski mask on,” Fountain told WDIV. “He pulled a gun on her. Other than that, she said he didn’t really say anything. She gave him the box and he threw it back in the truck and he drove off.”

Fountain, who is a 37-year veteran of the Detroit Police Department, told WJBK that he’s hoping somebody recognizes the suspect and turns him in.

“Karma comes around. And the thing is, these guys have to be mindful when you do things like that you’re going to have to pay the piper some kind of way.”
