SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. — A New York woman was charged with second-degree criminal nuisance and violating local social host laws after hosting a party with what officials said were as many as 300 attendees, NBC New York reported.
Kim Catalanotto, 47, hosted the party Saturday night in the Farmingdale area of Long Island.
Authorities responded to multiple 911 calls reporting the event.
Catalanotto’s party comes as the COVID-19 pandemic continues; across the state, 1,796 new cases of coronavirus were reported Saturday, according to Johns Hopkins University.
Guidelines instituted by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo limit social gatherings to 50 people in counties that have graduated to phase four of reopening.
