3 family members arrested for allegedly trespassing, assisting in fight in North Carolina

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A grandmother, mother and aunt were arrested Thursday afternoon for allegedly trespassing on a high school campus in Greensboro, North Carolina, to assist in a fight.

According to WXII, the Greensboro Police Department said that on Thursday around 12:40 p.m., three adults later identified as Laquita Sims, 31; Tracy Sims, 49; and Demorshea Sims, 21, went to Grimsley High School and got on campus with two related female students. The group of five found two Grimelsy students and a fight allegedly took place.

Laquita, Tracy and Demorshea allegedly assisted their two family members with the fight against the two other students, according to WXII. A school resource officer was made aware of the situation and called for assistance while trying to find the three adults.

According to WFXY, GPD said a teacher tried to stop the fight but the mother, Laquita, allegedly hit the teacher. Fortunately, that teacher is OK.

According to WFXY, all three adults have been charged with conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor, two counts of simple assault, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, trespassing and inciting a riot. Laquita was additionally charged with assault on a school official.
