Lottery officials in Illinois have announced that the winners of this summer’s multibillion-dollar Mega Millions jackpot have finally stepped forward.
The $1.337 billion drawing was held on July 29 and one ticket was declared the winner, The Associated Press reported.
Illinois Lottery officials announced Wednesday that two people, who decided to remain anonymous, have won the jackpot.
The winners had agreed with each other that they would split the money if they won.

That turned out to be an absolutely life-changing decision when a $3 line of Mega Millions with Megaplier turned into a $1.34 billion jackpot win,” Illinois Lottery Director Harold Mays said, according to WGN.
