A 15-footer of the invasive species was caught crossing a highway in South Florida’s Everglades National Park, WTVJ reported.

Kymberly Clark posted a video of the slithering snake on her Instagram account and called it her favorite wildlife sighting of 2023.

A woman’s voice can be heard on Clark’s video, urging someone to “pick it up.”

There were no takers.

Clark said she reported the location of the python to wildlife officials, WTVJ reported.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission website, Burmese pythons are found primarily in and around the Everglades in South Florida, and the snake represents a threat to native wildlife.

Every year, Florida hosts a competition to eliminate Burmese pythons. In 2022, more than 230 of the pythons were removed from the Everglades, according to WTVJ.

Matthew Concepcion, 19, was last year’s winner. He removed 28 pythons and won the $10,000 grand prize, according to the television station.
