PAINESVILLE, Ohio — A man is behind bars in Painesville, Ohio, after police said he threw an iguana at a Perkins restaurant manager.
According to a Painesville Police Department Facebook post, the 49-year-old man, whose name was not released, was at the restaurant Tuesday morning when he pulled an iguana out of his shirt, "swung it around his head by its tail and then threw the iguana at the store manager."
Officers arrived at the scene at 11:49 a.m. and later tracked down the suspect, police said. They arrested him on charges of disorderly conduct, animal cruelty and resisting arrest.
"The suspect's Iguana whom we have affectionately named 'Copper' was seized by the officers," the Facebook post read. "Copper was later released to the Lake County Humane Society who will be taking Copper to a vet so he can be checked for injuries."
