A Florida man saw what may be the new greatest fear in the Sunshine State: An alligator climbing high in a tree.
Ronald Saracino said he found the alligator in Cape Coral on Tuesday night and initially thought it was a lizard, WINK reports.
"The more I looked at it, the more I thought it was actually probably a 5-foot gator," he told WINK. "I know people are not going to believe it, but I 100 percent believe it was a gator!"
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials agreed with Saracino's assessment, saying that it could very well be an alligator "because of the position the animal is resting in and the size of the body in relation to the head," the WINK story added.

"They are more agile than people give them credit for," Amy Sera, an educator at the Calusa Nature Center in Fort Myers, told WINK. "I've seen picture of crocodiles doing that behavior. It gives them a little bit better view of their territory. Cold-blooded animals get their energy from the sun and the warmth. So, they are more active in the summer."
