NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — Instead of a cat up a tree, South Carolina firefighters saved a puppy who had become trapped under a pile of rocks Saturday.
Bike riders called emergency responders after hearing a puppy crying under the rocks, the North Charleston Fire Department said on Facebook, according to WCSC.
Engine 201's captain started digging and was able to reach in and pull the dog from under the stones, WCSC reported.
All the while, the captain was encouraging the dog to get out, sweetly saying, “You can do it, you can do it.”
Once the dog got out, they checked the pup over and it didn't seem to be injured, WCSC reported.
