Child going in for surgery asks doctor to fix his teddy bear too, doctor performs surgery on bear

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia — A surgeon in Canada has gone above and beyond to help one of his smallest patients.

Eight-year-old Jackson McKie was going under for surgery last week, but he had a very important, even lifesaving, request for his doctor before he fell asleep from anesthesia. While Dr. Daniel McNeely was fixing Jackson, could he also perform surgery on his bear Little Baby, the BBC reported.

Jackson has a brain condition called hydrocephalus, or an accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid, the CBC reported. McNeely has been Jackson's neurosurgeon since he was born.

McNeely posted photos of the bear surgery to his Twitter account, asking, "How could I say no?"
