BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio — The father of a 3-year-old girl who died in March 2018 said he hopes the babysitter who received the maximum sentence for the child's death "spends the rest of her life in prison."
Lindsay Partin was sentenced Thursday to 18 years to life in prison after her conviction on murder and child endangering charges related to the death of Hannah Wesche.

Wesche died after collapsing on March 8, 2018. Prosecutors said Partin abused the child, causing her death, while the defense claimed Hannah’s injuries were caused in other ways.
The defense said it would appeal.
“I hope she doesn’t make parole,” said Jason Wesche, Hannah’s father. “I hope she spends the rest of her life in prison.”
Jason Wesche was one of several people to speak in court before Judge Greg Stephens read his sentences.
A cousin and friend of Partin's spoke on her behalf. They said they believe she is innocent, and Partin's attorney, Melynda Cook Howard, said she plans to appeal. She asked the judge for a minimum sentence, even though the sentencing guidelines were strict in this case.
“Lindsay stood next to me as I got married and I stood next to her,” said friend Andrea Corry, who added she believed Partin was not capable of the crime. She told the judge as a child Partin was a cheerleader, a Girl Scout and a friend. “She is not capable of this.”
Hannah Wesche’s mother, Adrian Latham, read a statement before sentencing.
“My brave daughter ... gone and I will always miss Hannah Jade with every fiber of my being,” she said.
Hannah’s uncle and father also spoke to the judge.
"I hope and pray every single day that you get the same treatment in jail that you showed to my daughter," Jason Wesche said.
