SpaceX successfully launches SXM-7 satellite from Space Coast

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — SpaceX successfully launched the SXM-7 satellite, from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Sunday.

The Falcon 9 rocket blasted into orbit at around 12:30 p.m.

The SXM-7 satellite will replace the XM-3 satellite in SiriusXM’s fleet, providing satellite radio programming to consumers across North America.

The launch was originally scheduled for 11:21 a.m. Friday, but was postponed several times before ultimately being scrubbed with 30 seconds to go.
