SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A Seminole County neighbor is making headlines again with a new addition he's made to his property.
WFTV has been to the house several times in the past to speak with the so-called "junk-man" who lives inside.
Alan Davis is no stranger to code enforcement fines. He's racked up millions over the years.
Now, Seminole County is trying once again to get him to clean up junk appliances, old cars and hundreds of other items rotting in his yard.
New liens are about to be filed next month and the home is racking up thousands in fines each month.
“He's constructed a wooden structure on the front of his property there, what you might call a carport. It's a two-story type figure,” said Bob Pike with Seminole County.
WFTV could not contact Davis for his side of the story, but he's been outspoken in the past. He doesn't believe the county has the right to any control over his property.
It came to a head about 14 years ago, when county workers took over his property and removed tons of junk.
“He has been a repeat offender, obviously. We've had public records that date back over the years, and that's why he's being cited again for the fines he's accumulated currently,” Pike said.
While the fines keep adding up on a daily basis, there is another hearing before a magistrate in January.
