VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Volusia County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a homicide after a man was found shot to death in a residential neighborhood in Deltona Sunday morning.
The victim was found on the side of the road on Matthew Circle just after 6 a.m.

On-call detectives responded to the scene and found he had been shot.
The sheriff’s office has identified the victim as 23-year-old Marvin K. Evans, III of Sanford.

Residents of the neighborhood where Evans’ body was found say they’re shocked by the discovery.

None say they knew Evans or had ever noticed him in the area before.
Evans has no criminal record in Volusia or Seminole Counties.
Volusia County detectives haven’t commented on a motive or possible suspects in the case.
