Osceola County honors Orlando nightclub shooting victims

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Residents from the city of Kissimmee and Osceola County showed their support Tuesday morning for the Pulse shooting victims.

They displayed the Sea to Sea Flags outside downtown Kissimmee buildings to pay tribute to the 49 victims gunned down inside the nightclub June 12 and honor the survivors.

Each flag is 25 feet tall and comes from the world’s largest eight-color LGBT rainbow flag.

The flags are on display on the front of Kissimmee City Hall and on the side of the county’s parking garage through June 24.

The group also stood together to form a heart to show their love for the city of Orlando.

The original 1.25-mile long rainbow flag was created by artist Gilbert Baker in 1978, as a symbol of the worldwide LGBT movement for acceptance, understanding, education, solidarity and inclusion.

The flag was also on display in Orange County.
