In the 2018 primary, 1.3 million Floridians voted by mail. This year 2.1 million have voted by mail, an increase of more than 60%.
The surge in vote-by-mail is has been driven by both parties, with Republicans submitting more than 100,000 more vote-by-mail ballots than in 2018, and Democrats increasing their VBM numbers from 564,607 in 2018 to more than 1-million in 2020.
As VBM numbers have surged, in person voting has dropped by about 100-thosuand votes statewide.
