Five districts in Central Florida will have their U.S. House of Representatives seats up for grabs in the November election.
Channel 9 compiled information about each of the local candidates you’ll see on the ballot. Click each candidates' name for more information. Find out everything you need to know below.
District 7:
Stephanie Murphy, Democrat, incumbent
Stephanie Murphy has represented Florida’s Seventh Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2017. She is a former educator, businesswoman, and national security specialist.
Dr. Valentín owns and operates a diagnostic radiology practice in Orlando. Before that he served as president and CEO of Professional Hospital in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.
District 6:
Michael Waltz, Republican, incumbent
Waltz is a Florida native, a combat decorated Green Beret, a former Fox News Contributor, and a small business owner. He was sworn in to represent Florida’s 6th congressional district in 2019
Curtis is an attorney, who practices government corruption law, veterans law and social security disability law. He is the founder of the Law Offices of Clint Curtis & Associates. He regularly hold workshops that provide free legal assistance for naturalization, veterans compensation claims and expungement workshops.
District 10:
Val Demings, Democrat, incumbent
Demings represents Florida’s 10th Congressional District since 2017. Before that, Demings served the Orlando Police Department for 27 years she made history as the department’s first female police chief.
Francois was born and raised in Orlando. After graduating from law school, Vennia joined Senator Martinez’s staff full time as a policy advisor. In 2011, Vennia moved to the private sector, where she remained for two years before returning to public service in 2013 as a contract attorney for Lockheed Martin.

District 9:
Darren Soto, Democrat, incumbent
Elected in 2016. Serving for a decade in the Florida Legislature. The first Floridian of Puerto Rican descent to serve in Congress,
Olson lives in Davenport Florida, where he retired after serving 27 years in the United States Army as a Sergeant First Class.
District 15:
For three-decades Cohn worked as an investigative journalist focusing on enterprise reporting, which according to his website, has exposed police brutality coverups, environmental scandals, and corrupt politicians abusing their power.
Franklin spent 26 years in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aviator, 14 years on active duty and 12 years in the reserves. For the past 20 years he has owned and operated a small business in Lakeland.
