TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — These are the key dates for certifying the 2020 General Election results in Florida:
Tuesday, Nov. 3, 7 p.m. local time: General Election/Preliminary Election returns due
Saturday, Nov. 7, no later than Noon: First Unofficials Due/Machine Recount -- must occur if first set of unofficial returns indicates a candidate/issue was defeated or eliminated by half of 1% or less of the total votes cast.
Thursday, Nov. 12, no later than 3 p.m.: Second Unofficials Due/Manual Recount -- must occur if the 2nd set of unofficial returns indicates that a candidate/issue was defeated or eliminated by 1/4 of 1% or less of the total votes cast.

Sunday, Nov. 15, no later than Noon: Official returns due to the Department of State from County Canvassing Boards.
Tuesday, Nov. 17, 9 a.m.: Election Canvassing Commission meets to certify official returns
Friday, Nov. 27, Midnight: Contest of Election deadline.
Monday, Dec. 14: Florida’s 29 Electoral College presidential electors meet to cast votes for the U.S. President and Vice President.
Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021: Congress meets in joint session to count electoral votes.
