Rockledge police are searching for a car and set of suspects involved in burglaries to two Central Florida gun stores in two days.

Police said the suspects made off with 15 guns from Red Dot Shooting Inc., which sells, buys and trades guns, according to its website. The burglary happened around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said the same car used in that incident, a newer model Hyundai Veloster with extensive damage to its driver side, was also involved in the burglary of a archery/gun store in Ocala the day before, as well as an attempted burglary in West Melbourne on Sunday and another in Fernandina Beach.

Investigators said the car has a spare tire on its front passenger side and some damage to the front right bumper.

This type of crime is exactly what new legislation endorsed by Orange County Sheriff John Mina this week would crack down on. The legislation proposes that all gun stores and shows secure their guns with locked cables, chains or gun safes after hours. Click here to read more about that proposal.

Anyone on information regarding the vehicle or suspects shown in the surveillance photos is asked to contact Cpl. Jeff White at 321-690-3988, ex. 3202 or jwhite@rockledgepolice.org.

This is a developing story. It will be updated as more information becomes available.
