OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A member of Osceola County’s Fire-Rescue team was sent to the hospital Wednesday after being struck in the head with an ax while responding to a call.
Crews from Osceola County Fire Station 62 were called to a home in Kissimmee for a woman who was having difficulty breathing.

According to the sheriff’s office, as the woman was being treated, her son came out of the home wielding an ax and struck a member of the fire-rescue team in the head.
The victim was taken to Osceola County Regional Hospital to be treated and is now listed as stable.

The suspect has been taken into custody, but deputies haven’t identified him or said what charges he’ll be facing.
Deputies have not said what the motive for the attack might have been.
