ORLANDO, Fla. — After a day of protest, then a day of meetings, NBA players are moving towards action in the fight to end racial injustice.
Orlando Magic players held a virtual meeting Friday with Orange County Sheriff John Mina.

The NBA and the Players Association released a statement Friday announcing a number of social initiatives.
One of the issues the players are advocating for is meaningful police and criminal justice reform, and that was the focus of much of the discussion between the entire Magic team and Sheriff Mina.
The meeting was conducted via Zoom, as the team remains inside the NBA Bubble at Walt Disney World.

However, the players say they didn’t want to waste any momentum that was created over the last few days by the NBA protest initiated by the Milwaukee Bucks when they sat out Wednesday’s Playoff game against the Magic.
One of the other action items from the NBA Players Association was to turn every arena into a voting precinct for the upcoming election.
A source says the Magic are already working with the City of Orlando and the Orange County Supervisor of Elections to make that happen.
