Orlando International Airport expects pre-pandemic travel numbers on Monday

ORLANDO, Fla. — It was a busy Sunday at Orlando International Airport (MCO).

This same day last year, just 8,465 people flew out of MCO. This year airport officials said they are expecting over 64,000.

The airport is projecting pre-pandemic travel numbers on Memorial Day.

Officials expect that nearly 300,000 people will fly out of MCO this holiday weekend, compared to last year when that number was just over 45,000.

Officials believe Monday will be the busiest travel day of the holiday weekend, with many people returning home.
