ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has released body-worn camera video from the scene of a deputy-involved shooting outside the Florida Mall earlier this month in which a 22-year-old man was killed.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement notified the sheriff’s office Tuesday that they’d completed the final initial interview of their investigation into the Aug. 7 shooting of Salaythis Melvin, clearing OCSO to release the video.

The video the sheriff’s office released Tuesday includes dash-cam footage showing the moments leading up to the shooting, and body-cam video of the actions of deputies on scene just after it happened.
The video was released to a representative of Melvin’s family before it was made public.
They plan to provide a statement in response to the video Wednesday afternoon.
The FDLE investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
