NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — About 30 wounded veterans went surfing on New Smyrna Beach Sunday morning as part of a charity event.
Oceans of Hope teamed up with the Wounded Warrior Project to take the group of veterans, some reliant on wheelchairs, surfing in the Atlantic.
The goal, according to the charities, was to teach the veterans adaptive swimming.
Veterans from around the state participated in the event.
