World’s tallest slingshot, drop tower officially open at ICON Park

The world’s tallest slingshot and drop tower officially are now open to the public at ICON Park in Orlando.

The Orlando Slingshot stands at 300 feet and launches two riders out of an “exploding volcano” about 450 feet straight up, reaching speeds up to 100 MPH, according to a news release.

The adjacent Orlando FreeFall stands at 430 feet and can take 30 riders at a time high above ICON Park and International Drive. The vehicle rotates around the gigantic tower until it reaches the top, tilting riders forward 30 degrees to face the ground for a brief moment before free falling nearly 400 feet, reaching speeds over 75 MPH, the news release states.

Tickets are $30 for the SlingShot and $12 for the FreeFall. Combo tickets that can also include the StarFlyer are also on sale, ranging from $20 to $50.
