ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers are searching for a driver who fled from a crash that left a woman dead and a child in critical condition.

The crash happened Saturday, at 8:50 p.m. near the intersection of West Colonial Drive and Powers Drive in Orlo Vista.

The woman and male child were initially hit by a white Infinity that was traveling eastbound on Colonial Drive.

Troopers said the pair was not in a marked crosswalk when the initial crash happened.

According to an FHP report, after both pedestrians were down in the roadway, the woman was reportedly struck by another vehicle, that ran from the scene.

The 29-year-old woman was transported to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

The child is currently in critical condition in the ICU.

Troopers said the second vehicle fled the scene and described it as a dark-colored sedan.

This crash remains under investigation.
