It happened around 6:10 p.m. at mile marker 19. The woman was traveling north in a Pontiac while a Ford truck pulling a small trailer and a Ford SUV were traveling south.
For an unknown reason, the woman lost control and entered the center median then entered the south lanes, and the front of her car hit the front of the truck head-on, FHP said.
The SUV was unable to avoid the collision and hit debris or one or both of the vehicles from the initial crash, according to FHP.
The woman was ejected from her vehicle and the truck overturned on its right side after the collision, FHP said.
The woman later died at a Winter Garden hospital. The drivers of the other two vehicles were transported to the hospital as well with injuries that were not life-threatening.
