SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla.,None — A Seminole County woman convicted of trying to kill her husband in a house fire was sentenced to prison Friday.
A judge sentenced Kimberly Boone to 15 years in prison for attempted second degree murder and 20 years in prison for arson of a dwelling. Those sentences will run consecutively.
She will get credit for 1,011 days served, and will have 10 years of supervised probation awaiting her when she is released.
Boone was found guilty in October. Prosecutors said she tried to kill Robert Boone to collect his life insurance. It was the second time she was accused of attempted murder.
In 2010, a jury found her not guilty on charges she shot Robert Boone in the chest.
She faced up to 45 years behind bars.
Defense attorney Buck Blankner said the State presented evidence the jury never should have heard. He said he is confident there is a good chance he will prevail on appeal.
