The city is currently looking for ways to become ‘smarter,’ using new technologies and data analysis.
City leaders will host a community meeting with an open-house style where guests can talk to representatives and give them feedback and ideas on how the city can implement these changes.
With newer technologies, Winter Park will have a better transportation system, municipal services, and ‘smarter’ utilities to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors.
The city is looking for community feedback or ideas on the following:
Intelligent transportation: Monitoring traffic flow in Winter Park, reducing congestion, finding better routes, and having a system that alerts people about available parking.
Public safety: Ensure first responders have a go-to training plan with new technologies to better respond to emergencies.
Utilities: Implementing next-generation utility services that are efficient and sustainable to keep customers happy.
Quality of life: Welcoming the community to a modern and efficient environment.
Another part of the initiative is to improve internet access by installing fiber-optic internet and adding digital signage.
If you want to submit feedback for the city online, it will be available on June 1 on this website.
The meeting will be on June 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Winter Park Country Club.
