The city commission on Feb. 8 voted 4-1 to end an exclusive negotiating period with Birmingham-based Harbert Realty Services. The local office of Harbert was the only bidder on a request for proposals to reuse the building, with a plan to convert the 33,000-square-foot building at 460 E. New England Ave. into two floors of coworking space and health-related concepts on the ground level.
Why this matters: The land would likely be a key renovation or redevelopment site in Winter Park, as it is located right near Park Avenue.
