ORLANDO, Fla. — For White Castle cravers in Florida, the wait is almost over.

The chain announced it will close its virtual kitchen on Wednesday, a day after opening it to the public, and reopen Thursday.

“We never want to disappoint any fans of the Castle ever. With that in mind, our Orlando White Castle virtual kitchen will remain closed on Wednesday as we invest some time to prepare,” White Castle Vice President Jamie T. Richardson said in a prepared statement. “We will re-open our Orlando White Castle virtual kitchen on Thursday, February 25 at 10:00 a.m. for on-line pick-up orders only.”

Orders can be placed here.

In addition, Uber Eats delivery orders that were previously announced are not being taken for now, but White Castle looks “forward to offering that service soon.”

On Tuesday, fans of the iconic fast-food chain were able to order favorites such as cheese sliders, fries, and mozzarella sticks for delivery.

Starting Thursday, deliveries will be available from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., 7 days a week via Uber Eats and only within a 15-minute radius of the company’s virtual kitchen located at Dollins Ave.

For customers outside the delivery area, not to worry, you can still order online and pick up the tasty treats to go.

White Castle Vice President, Operations Mike Guinan said the plan is to start small and possibly expand in the future.

“Our plan is to roll this out thoughtfully with our family-owned business emphasis on quality. We anticipate that our delivery operations will scale up in the months to come,” he said.

Many in the Orlando area have been waiting to get their hands on the tiny square burgers since White Castle broke ground on the O-Town West location last November.

The 4,567-square-foot restaurant will still have the iconic “tower” but with a more modern industrial-style design, the company said.

The restaurant will include indoor and outdoor seating, two drive-through lanes, and is expected to create 120 new jobs.

The Orlando “castle” will mark the 100-year-old hamburger chain’s return to Florida since departing in the 1960s.

The company said the new location is scheduled to open in spring 2021.
