A 29-acre parcel of land near the Orange County Convention Center and SeaWorld Orlando may become home to sports legend Pat Williams’ big Major League Baseball dreams.

Williams’ big push for the aptly named “Orlando Dreamers” includes building a $1.7 billion, 45,000-seat domed professional baseball stadium with additional multiple hotel towers with up to 1,000 rooms, a performance venue with capacity of 5,000-10,000 and multiple shops and restaurants.

The effort is seeking $975 million in Orange County tourist development tax (TDT) revenue to cover part of the cost — the rest to be “completed in concurrence with Orange County funding,” according to a TDT application filed with Orange County in April.
