Update:

Volusia County fire officials said the fire in Osteen was 250 acres on Saturday, which came from last week’s 600-acre fire.

It is 25% contained, and spot fires can be seen up to 300 yards from the main fire.

Volusia County Fire Rescue said the main issue was high winds from the east.

Crews are opening Pell Road for residents to get back into their homes.

They’re also working on the containment lines overnight.

Fire crews will control burn everything that hasn’t burned within those lines. Residents should expect more fire and smoke as that happens.

Residents are being told visibility is going to be very poor overnight.

Drive slow, stay inside and don’t set any fires.

Winds have died down, and conditions have improved marginally, but enough for them to do these burns.
