July will play a critical role in the next stage of the Canaveral Port Authority’s plan to build a new $175 million cruise terminal, most likely on the port’s south side.

In April, the port authority announced plans to open another terminal by 2026 — its seventh. And the Bluepoints Marina just west of the dining/retail The Cove area may be the ideal spot, it was revealed during the port’s May 24 meeting.
Capt. John Murray, CEO of Port Canaveral, said at the May 24 meeting that the port is reviewing the bulkhead — or dockside — space at the marina for the possible future facility.
