Leadership from FDOT’s District 5 office and Orange County government gave an update on the rail corridor to the Orange County Commission on Feb. 21, following a request by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings for more information.
Why this matters: The Sunshine Corridor has the potential to draw investment tied to new jobs and to provide an alternate connection for employers and tourists in the region.
“Transportation is truly essential to our growth and my priority is to ensure our workers have reliable and affordable options to get to and from their jobs,” Demings said during the meeting.
