“We’re just monitoring that you guys are able to wear masks if you’re not 6 feet apart at all times… which it looks like you’re doing a good job of. I can see through there. You’ve got plenty of hand sanitizer inside,” said Nichole Holton, with Orange County Code Enforcement.
The strike team is made up of code enforcement, the health department and the fire marshal.
The team Seabrook tagged along with made a stop at Rolled Ice Cream.
“We’re trying to keep people separated, not to be in an enclosed space, not only for the protection of our customers, but for our employees also,” owner Louis Young said.
The team had one small issue with the setup at Rolled Ice Cream. They said the door needed to swing outward instead of in. And, Holton said, they had to bring a fire extinguisher to the front, just in case there was an issue with the back exit.
Everything else, the team said, looked great from his sanitation practices to the markers placed on the floor to space out customers.
“I want to be in compliance,” Young said. “So, whatever we have to do so we can keep this business open, I’ll take care of it.”
