WINTER GARDEN, Fla. — West Orange Habitat for Humanity will celebrate the completion of seven new affordable homes later this week in its newest housing community, Habitat Edgeway, in East Winter Garden.
The dedication ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at 1307 Edgeway Drive, where seven families will receive the keys to their new homes.
According to the organization, the families completed hundreds of hours of sweat equity through volunteer work at Habitat build sites, the ReStore, and community events.
Future homeowners also participated in financial literacy courses as part of the program.
West Orange Habitat for Humanity said its homeownership program is designed to help families facing barriers to purchasing homes through traditional channels by providing affordable mortgage options.
The seven-home dedication marks the latest milestone in the organization’s effort to expand affordable homeownership opportunities in West Orange County.
