Original story:

Chief meteorologist Tom Terry is tracking a strong storm system that is moving over the state during the next two days.

The system will bring the possibility of damaging wind gusts, a chance for isolated tornados and minor flooding.

“Scattered storms are already popping up locally and will increase through this evening and overnight,” Terry said. “(There will be) storms -- possibly severe -- with a tornado threat as well.”

He said that overnight, we can continue to expect severe weather, a tornado threat and gusty winds.

Terry said that 2 to 4 inches of rainfall and flash flooding is also possible.

The risk of widespread severe storms and isolated tornadoes will continue into Thursday.
