TIMELINE: Severe weather threat ends as storm system moves through Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — The threat of severe storms has passed in Central Florida.

7 p.m. update:

The severe weather watches and warnings have ended in Central Florida.

Some areas, including St. Cloud in Osceola County, reported hail as the worst afternoon storms moved through.

Channel 9 will continue to monitor the impact from the storms and will have ongoing coverage on Eyewitness News.

2:40 p.m. update:

With all of Central Florida under a severe thunderstorm watch until this evening, several counties have issued severe thunderstorm warnings.

Parts of Orange, Lake, Volusia, Marion and Flagler counties have been placed under severe thunderstorm warnings Saturday afternoon.

High winds, heavy rains and a chance for hail in places are why the severe thunderstorm warnings were issued.

Channel 9 will have continuing coverage of the severe thunderstorms on Eyewitness News.

12 p.m. update:

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for all of Central Florida through 7 p.m.

Saturday is a Weather Alert Day.

Saturday starts off dry, with temperatures in the 60s and 70s and possible patchy fog, but it’s going to get wet and stormy later this afternoon.

Scattered showers and storms will arrive early Saturday afternoon.

The timing of Saturday’s storm will be around 1 to 7 p.m.

Scattered severe storms will be likely. High winds and large hail will be our biggest hazards.

We could also see another 1-3 inches of rain, leading to some localized flooding.

Isolated tornadoes can’t be ruled out.
