BOCA CHICA, Texas — A SpaceX Mars rocket prototype exploded in Texas Thursday.
The SN10 rose nearly six miles above coastal Texas before it landed back on Earth.
But a few minutes after touching down, it exploded.

SpaceX has not released the cause of the explosion.

Despite the explosion, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said the launch was a success because the rocket was able to land.

SpaceX said it plans to use Starship for numerous purposes, including taking customers between cities at extreme speeds and eventually taking cargo and humans to Mars.
