SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Two hikers who were lost in the woods in Seminole County were safely found Friday.
Members of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Aviation Unit, Alert 2, were notified of the missing hikers near the Wekiva River. After a brief search, the two hikers waved and flagged down the officers.
Members of the sheriff’s office told FWC officers the coordinates of the missing hikers and they were escorted out of the woods.
Deputies with the sheriff’s office urge people before they go hiking, to let loved ones know where they’re going, make sure their phone is charged and bring a whistle to help flag down people.
