A man accused of shooting a Daytona Beach police officer will be extradited to Florida.
Othal Wallace appeared in a Georgia court on Tuesday morning.

During the court hearing, Wallace declined the options of either fighting the extradition or seeking counsel with the public defender. His time before the judge lasted roughly 3 minutes.
“Alright. That will expedite your return to Florida. You will not have to go through that process and that was your choice today, correct?” the judge said.
“Yes, sir,” Wallace replied.

Wallace gave the thumbs up and it was over.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said it will not be releasing information, plans or scheduling details about the extradition.
An attorney who spoke with Channel 9 said Wallace will now be transported straight to the Volusia County Jail.

The specifics of when he will be transported will be kept private due to potential security concerns. But the attorney says it could happen within the next couple of days.
Once Wallace is booked into the jail, he will then make a court appearance in Volusia County and his path toward a trial here will begin.
The FBI said it will continue to review the investigation and see if federal charges are necessary, but no decision has been made at this time

Officials arrested Wallace in Georgia after he was found hiding in a treehouse over the weekend.
