VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Earlier this year, an Ormond Beach couple contacted Sheriff Mike Chitwood to report a case of fraud and grand theft.

The victims contracted with a solar power company to install a system in their home.

The salesman and defendant, Steven Scott, collected a payment of $37,044 and failed to turn the money over to his employer.
Scott lied about collecting the money first and then quit.
No one has heard from him since.

A judge has signed a warrant for Scott’s arrest on one count of organized scheme to defraud and one count of grand theft, carrying a $40,000 bond with nationwide pickup.
Scott’s last known verified address is in Orlando. However, the current resident says he no longer lives there.
